Just a reminder that we will be having a guest speaker this Friday during tutorial in room 22, 2:15-3:15.  This is OPTIONAL, but if you ever wanted to pick the brain of a college English professor, now is your chance.   She will discuss common writing concerns, such as intros/conclusions, show vs. tell, and transitions.  Come with questions, see you there!

Thank you for such a great year thus far!  As you know, I will be on maternity leave for the remainder of the semester and will return for 3rd and 7th periods for the second semester.

4th, 5th, and 6th periods–it has been a pleasure! I will miss you, but you are in good hands, have fun with you new teachers!  I can’t wait to hear how you are doing and please check in next semester.

Sticking with what was originally stated on the extra credit handout, the D-8 Extra Credit is due this Friday (11/4), not Thursday, at 11:59 pm to turnitin.com.

Just a reminder, your homework after the midterm is reading from chapter 7, pages 254 to 259, due next class (10/26 for 5th period and 10/27 for 4th and 6th periods).  New calendars will be distributed next class.  Happy reading!

Just a reminder, that since we do not have a tutorial before our midterm on Monday (5th period) and Tuesday (4th and 6th periods), I have added a lunchtime tutorial on both Thursday (10/20) and Friday (10/21) . Come ask questions, look at old quizzes, or just to study!

Just a reminder, the midterm is on 10/24 for 5th period and 10/25 for 4th and 6th periods. The midterm consists of 75 multiple choice questions that ask you to apply what we have learned this quarter.  Happy studying!

Reminder: Gone With the Wind Extra Credit is due this Friday, October 7 to turnitin.com by 11:59 pm!!! In order to receive extra credit for this assignment, you must 1st, watch the movie; 2nd, submit a one-page critical evaluation of the movie–NOT  a summary of what happened in the movie–to turnitin.com by 11:59 pm Friday night.  3rd: To verify that you did in fact watch the movie, you must also turn in a note signed by a parent that simply says you watched the movie.  Since some of you may watch the movie Friday afternoon, you can turn in the parent signature no later than 3:15 on Tuesday, no exceptions–4th and 6th, we do not have class that day, but you must either come find me or put the note in my box by 3:15 pm. on Tuesday.
